刘文胜教授简介:
1991年在吉林大学物理系获学士学位,1999年师从Weinberg获得德克萨斯大学博士学位,2001-2004年在MIT做Wilzcek的博士后。2004年开始在匹茨堡
大学任教授。主要研究兴趣为:奇异超流体、准⼀一维费米气体、p轨道晶格气体和关联电子等体系涉及的基本性质。在Nature Physics(2篇),
Physical Review Letters(14篇)等刊物中发表⼀一系列开拓性的理论工作,并实质性推动了冷原子领域的实验工作。
报告内容摘要:
In this talk, I will first give a brief review on some of the most exciting developments of p-orbitals in both theory and experiment. Then, I will focus on two examples of topological order. One is a topological semimetal,characterized by a parabolic band-degeneracy point with Berry flux 2ð, due to the mixing of p and d orbital bands of a two-dimensional optical lattice. Another is the emergence of a Z2 topological insulator of interacting fermions on a two-leg ladder of s and porbitals, requiring none of the previously known mechanisms such as spin-orbit coupling, artificial gauge field, or p-wave pairing. The odd parity of p-orbitals is found key to both topological examples.
